TOEFL


TALK  ABOUT  T.O.E.F.L (test of English as a foreign language)
 TOEFL represent standarisasi ability of someone English in writing covering three domination aspect, that is: Listening, Writing, and Reading.
 Items test comprehension listening consist of 3 shares, for example :
A.    SHORT CONVERSATION
Although it just contain short conversation, important for the prospective participants to preparing this part was with understood content word, knew the possibility of the existence of the trap and looked for the method that was appropriate to carry out the matter of this kind.
1.      The important content word in the process listen. Content word is important word in the sentence that when prounounced always receive the pressure was stronger was compared function word.
Function word in the sentence was words that including in the keyword was verb, noun, adjective, and adverb. The example before listening the dialogue, paid attention to the alternative to the answer along with   :
a.      He always wtches television from 1:00 to 2:00
b.      He’ll watch in one hour or two
c.       He just got television this week
d.      He doesn’t see many programs
Content words that was dominant in the example above is there he watch or see television.
next step, he must immediately be ready to listen to the other keyword that connected two words that will be presented in the matter.
Woman            :  How often do you watch television ?
Man                 :  Only an hour or two week
Question          :  What does the man mean ?
After participants test certainly will be easy to answer or choose this answer option. The true answer was (B). he’ll watch in hour or two.

2.      Watched “trap”in short conversation. Sometimes the trap is made by spitting certain words in the matter sentence in the other words that “his free meaning” was the same as words in the matter.
3.      Knew the made dialogue in short conversation. Just had four possibilities of the dialogue’s made. The four dialogue were  :
a.       Question it was responded with statement
b.      Statement it was responded with question
c.       Statement it was responded with statement
d.      Question it was responded with question

B.     LONG CONVERSATION AND TALK
Long conversation was in the T.O.E.F.L test mean to test participant’s capacity in the test to understand long conversation concerning the available situation on academic’s area and non academic. In this part participant in the test will listen two their respective dialogue containing by 4 questions. In this part participant will listen to three monologue that generally contain each one 5,4, and 3 question.
1.      Exercise made us of keyword
2.      Methods that could be considered in by participant in the test being to make use of the keyword really were needed in anticipating information that was sent in long conversation and talk.
